So ngaiz, you remember that 'hotspot lady' I couldn't keep quiet about? The one who made my head go into a fizzy the other day? Yes, that one. Imagine I found out that she eats ugali with a spoon... aiii! like who dasdaat? Anyway, due to public demand, I am here to tell how it went down, haha!
(continued)...You know that feeling that comes with you successfully getting her to give you her number. Feels so good, right? so, this is me. It's been like thirty minutes since we part and I see the need to 'pop' her phone with a follow up text, just to make sure she doesn't forget about me you know.
I look at my phone, it is 3.10 pm, that's good timing, so I send the text.
'Hey there Pretty, It's Hans, the hotspot guy!'
Just so you know, Hans has been my pen name since I went into writing. I find it a lil' classy. You might as well call me Brian but many are the times I have had ladies tell me 'haukai Brayo, wewe baki tu kuwa Hans" It is like telling a Kisii, 'haukai Mkisii' Pure bliss I tell you!
'Hey there Hans, It was interesting talking to you,' she replies, accompanied with a smiley face emoji. Wadau, green light number one, haha!
Like they said, opportunity knocks once at every man's door, and this time it was my turn and I was ready for it. With that I gear up all my energy, summon all my vibes for this one mission. It's either we get it right or get it right...no otherwise.
One hour later, we still deeply engrossed in conversations around our school and social lives. At least she doesn't ask me 'tell me about yourself,' because if she did what do I have to say. She is a smart one. I will give her that.
'Do you go to church?' she asks.
'Yes I do. Do you?'
'Yeah, uhm, actually there is this meeting in church tomorrow, you want to come?'
Damn, she is already inviting me out. Isn't that a sign guys? a good sign? I look at that text again and hesitate to answer. In my head I am like yes! yes! yes! but you can't say yes just like that. You will look spineless. Ama niaje Kech?
'Which meeting is that?' I ask,
'Some meeting about Kingdom Relationships, and I need a plus one.'
'Well if that's the case, look no further... but, I will be your plus one only if you agree to hang out with me some other time."
As I send this text, I actually think It was a little off, like did it have to be a give and take. at some point I regret why I actually sent it. But you know what, 'ka mbaya...'
'It's a deal' is her response.
We plan to where to meet and the time for the meet up and just like that, our first hangout, or rather 'date' is in church.
Isn't that a good sign ngaiz?
